Holocaust survivor Esther Davidson and her husband Ed, a retired US Army officer, offer a powerful and personal look at this tragic event.
Esther is a Holocaust survivor. She was born in Poland during WWII. In words and pictures, she will share with us the sorrow of lost family, the trauma of separation, surviving the tragedy of war, living in a Displaced Persons (DP) camp for four years, and, ultimately, what it was like coming to America.
Ed, a retired U.S. Army Officer, was born in America but has direct links to the Holocaust. He will discuss the Nuremburg Trials and the Nazi Concentration Camp system, and he will provide us with a picture tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp.
Our volunteer guest speakers come to us from the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council.
In conjunction with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Library Association's Americans and the Holocaust: A Traveling Exhibition for Libraries, the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library has planned an accompanying event series to explore important themes related to the exhibition. This event is part of that series.
