Story time is a valuable opportunity for your child to develop essential literacy, social, and creative skills. For children ages 2-5 and their caregiver.
Each week, we embark on a journey through the pages of delightful picture books. Through interactive reading, songs, and creative activities, children will ignite their imagination and love for books in a fun and engaging environment. We encourage parents and guardians to participate and engage with their little ones during the event, creating lasting memories and a love for learning.
Event Highlights:
1. Welcome song or rhyme. We begin each session with a simple song or rhyme to get everyone settled and ready for story time. This helps establish a routine and signals the start of the session.
2. Stories selected will be engaging picture books appropriate for preschoolers. Interaction during reading will be encouraged by asking questions about the pictures, characters, or predictions about what might happen next. This keeps children engaged and helps with their comprehension skills.
3. Fingerplays and action songs between each story will add movement and engagement.
4. Craft or art activity related to the stories read allows children to express their creativity and reinforce the story themes.
5. Hands-on activities will help little learners with kindergarten readiness skills.
6. Social interaction: Our story time isn't just about reading; it's also about building friendships. Your child will have the opportunity to socialize with peers, fostering important social skills and friendships.
